Saif Ali Khan honoured to receive Padma ShriUnlike many star kids who hit the box-office jackpot with their very first film, Saif Ali Khan was handed with a different fate.

Though he easily got the big ticket to Bollywood by being Sharmila Tagore’s son, success did not follow and soon he was relegated to second lead in movies throughout the 90’s.

But with his ‘never say die’ attitude, Saif was not to be shelved so easily, the sprightly lad bounced back as a sexy stud in the new millennium with Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai.

And then after a long span of time he delivered a solo hit with Hum Tum and since then he never looked back.

Salman Khan as villain in Mr. India 2?

February 2, 2010 |10:26 | Gossips  By : Team X

Salman Khan as villain in Mr_ India 2.Salman Khan is keen to be part of Mr. India 2, even if it entails playing villain! However, the filmmakers feel challenged casting Salman in negative role.

Franchise owner Boney Kapoor tells Mid Day: "Mogambo was a perfect villain for those times. He died at the end of Mr India.

So that's the end of him. Salman has said that he wants to be part of Mr India 2 in any capacity, even as a villain. It would be a big challenge to project Salman as a negative character, a first for him."

The film is finally beginning to take shape with Anees Bazmee having been picked as the helmer. Earlier Shekhar Kapur.

Who had helmed the 1987 hit, was to wield the baton again but he and the producer have had a falling apart.

Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, the lead pair in the original, have been confirmed for the sequel. At one point of time, Shah Rukh Khan was also offered the villain role.

VEER Salman demonstrates his massy clout again!

VEER Salman demonstrates his massy clout again

Anil Sharma's VEER may not have done a GADAR, but it has definitely proved beyond doubt the box-office clout of its lead actor Salman Khan, and has re-established him as the darling of the masses. It has also demonstrated that Salman's last hit WANTED was not a flash in the pan and that his hold over single screens is second to none and his fan base is very much intact.

For those who are unaware, VEER has done extremely well at single screens (it was aimed there, just like WANTED) and its first week business is definitely close on heels of Salman's last hit. While WANTED netted over 34 crores from India, VEER too has an impressive 33 crores to show from its opening week, despite some bad reviews and poor word of mouth. The lag of a crore or so may be attributed to the fact that WANTED had the advantage of releasing during the festive Eid period. Not only that, VEER has done almost similar business (though ordinary!) in the Overseas too.

Shahrukh Khan marries a 20-yr-old fanShe has been in love with him since she was seven, has watched all his films, and she dressed up as a bride at a five-star hotel in Ahmedabad where Shahrukh Khan came to promote his upcoming film My Name Is Khan.

It was a unique promotional event where people who had unusual love stories were called in to narrate their tales. When the 20-year-old Tillana Desai came on stage, she said she’s loved someone since her childhood but can’t marry him as he’s already married.

When asked who the man was, SRK was shocked to know that Tillana has been in love with him for most of her life. The besotted fan then took out a wedding ring and asked SRK to marry her.

Courteous enough to not break her heart, SRK obliged by staging a mock marriage with Tillana. He bent down on his knee and slid the ring into Tillana’s finger. The girl was simply ecstatic, to say the least. “I will never remove the ring and I am glad that he accepted my love and admiration for him,” Tillana later told a tabloid

Salman Khan – five yes-nos with Sallu Bhai!

January 23, 2010 |17:55 | Gossips  By : Team X

Salman Khan – five yes-nos with Sallu Bhai!Salman Khan is being interviewed recently and he has mouthed just yes and no’s to some questions. These are mainly regarding his lady love and whether they are still steady, on Shahrukh Khan and their friendship and on his latest film ‘Veer’.

I picked out 5 such questions from few websites like Bollywood Mantra and Entertainment Daily to which Salman had either ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Let’s find out whether it is a Yes or a No…   1

Is Salman Khan still dating Katrina Kaif – Yes! (Cool!) 2. If Salman would ever work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan again – No (Quite obvious!)   3.

Does Salman’s reel life lady love Zarine Khan look like real life love Katrina Kaif – No! (Thankfully!) 4. Will Salman ever patch up with Shahrukh Khan – No (So sad! But why not?)   5. Did he always want to be an actor? – No!

(It just came on the way of life) Needless to say, the most interesting one is the first point that Salman and Katrina are still together.   Kick off the rumors which said that they had a split! And hey, didn’t Salman say that he would get married soon? So does that mean Salman and Katrina are to tie the knots anytime now? That’s so exciting, isn’t it?
