Actor Salman Khan is reuniting with every filmmaker, who’s ever given him a hit in his career, but there’s one name that he’s steering clear of — Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
“Salman Khan is doing a film each with Sooraj Barjatya and Subhash Ghai. Both of them are keen to rework their magic with him. Salman too has faith in their geniuses given their history and is ready to allot dates for them as soon as they are available,” says a close friend of the star. Both filmmakers confirmed that Salman has said yes to their projects, and only the dates need to be worked out.
“Salman Khan wants to have a hit with them again.With Sooraj, it goes a long way from his Maine Pyar Kiya to Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. He’s longing to do a family entertainer that’s far removed from his Dabangg image,” the friend adds.
However, the omission of Bhansali is quiteglaring as Salman Khan has given some of his best films with him. “Sanjay has fallen out with so many people in the industry like(filmmaker) Karan Johar (which may keep actor Shah Rukh Khan out of bounds too) and Salman for openly criticising his film Guzaarish. Though actor Hrithik may have come in defence of Bhansali and spoken out against Salman, the actors have since made up and have become friends,” says another source.
Another note for rancour with Bhansali is apparently the filmmaker’s closeness to former flame, actor Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan. “Though he did a special appearance in Saawariya, Sanjay never really was the same with him since Khamoshi and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam days. He is a little hurt with Bhansali,” the source ends.
