TAG Heuer, the worldwide leader in luxury sports watches and chronographs launched a new timepiece from the LINK Collection – Calibre S at a press conference in New Delhi on the 2nd of December 2007.
The brand reiterated its commitment with sports with the TAG Heuer Precision Polo Cup and took forward its global ideology of consistently cultivating close links with the world of golf and sport.
At a press conference held at Diwan-i-Am, Taj Mahal Hotel, Jean-Christophe Babin, President & CEO TAG Heuer, Manishi Sanwal, General Manager LVMH Watch & Jewellery India Pvt Ltd and TAG Heuer Brand Ambassadors Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra unveiled the Calibre S.
TAG Heuer's LINK has been the Swiss watch making world's superlative sports and elegant timepiece and the emblematic icon of success.
The Calibre S movement further enhances the pure elegance of the Link design, while providing more functions, user-friendliness and readability. Calibre S is a new generation of "hybrid" electro-mechanical movements, and it's neither quartz nor automatic.
It is a mechanical movement with the precision of a quartz movement, providing 1/100th of a second chronograph accuracy and readability, encased in the most elegant sport inspired style on the luxury watch market.
Even by TAG Heuer standards, the LINK Chronograph Calibre S is a technological marvel, combining the ultimate in quartz and mechanical innovations.
A proprietary movement developed and patented by TAG Heuer, the Calibre S movement requires no fewer than 230 components and 5 high-performance bi-directional engines capable of twice the torque of conventional timepiece engines.
After the press conference, the much awaited Polo match was held at the Jaipur Polo Grounds and saw the participation by some of India’s best players.
