The Bhatts (Mukesh and Mahesh) and Percept Picture Company’s ambitious Indo-Pak joint venture film may turn out to be a big project with the filmmakers trying to rope in either Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan or Saif Ali Khan as the central character.
The untitled project is to be helmed by Shoaib Mansoor who directed the critically acclaimed Khuda Ke Liye, a film about the difficult situation in which the Pakistanis and the Muslims are caught post the 9/11 terror strike. The filmmakers have sent DVDs of Khuda Ke Liye to the actors so that they can appreciate Shoaib’s work.
A source says, “The film will have the best stars from Pakistan and India. The filmmakers have contacted Akshay, Aamir and Saif. They have also sent across the film’s DVD.”
When contacted Shailendra Singh of Percept said that he did not wish to comment on the film.
The Indo-Pak production film will be shot in India and Pakistan. The filmmakers have applied to the government of Pakistan for permission. The film, a cross border romance, is to be shot in Lahore and some other cities of the country.
