The year 2009 was not much of a lucky charm for most movie folks, yet some did have their slice of cake in the fag end of the year.
As the New Year is almost at the threshold, there are many projects in filmdom that are slated to be released in it.
What is however a mystery is that, no one ever knows the secret of pure success as far as movies are concerned.
Everyone seems to be thinking on new concepts and ideas to woo the audience to the theatres. This New Year has a line of big banner films that are to be released.
Now which one will click and which will sink is of course something only time will tell. The most awaited and talked about film is of course the ShahRukh Khan starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’, which is directed by Karan Johar.
With Kajol as the leading lady this is expected to be a sure shot hit and besides it is based on the trauma that Muslims in America had to go through after the 9/11 attacks. It sure is going to strike a chord due to its sympathetic touch in it.
This film is all set to capture the International market as it has been officially declared that a Hollywood Studio-Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the distribution rights for screening it in International venues. The other much awaited and expected hit is the Salman Khan starrer ‘Veer’, which is directed by Anil Sharma and has a very attractive package of the shots from the Buckingham Palace.
Akshay Kumar has also a blockbuster to look forward to as ‘Housefull’; the name of the film suggests it should be a movie to watch out for. It has director Sajid Khan as its back bone so there is something to look out in it too.
As for Abhishek Bachchan, it is a much talked about film with Director Mani Ratnam at its fore front, the movie is of course ‘Raavan’. Having Aishwarya as its female lead it sure is a much awaited film in the coming year.
As far as Hrithik Roshan is concerned, everyone expects him to be nothing but the best. So his forth coming film ‘Kites’ which is due in the coming year is again a film most film buffs are looking forward to. It is reported that there are many dialogues in Spanish and Director Rakesh Roshan also is eyeing for an International release along with the national release of the film.
Hrithik also has another wonderful project with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali called ‘Guzaarish’, this film has also been in the news for various reasons and thus has captured the audience attention to it. So, this is also a very much top list film to be releasing in the coming year. What remains to be seen is which one will be a runaway hit as all of these films have very high ratings already attached to their names.
